    Moving 10-years analysis of dissolved_oxygen_concentration at Mediterranean Sea for each season : - winter (January-March), - spring (April-June), - summer (July-September), - autumn (October-December). Every year of the time dimension corresponds to the 10-year centered average of each season. Decades span from 1971-1980 until 2006-2015. Observational data span from 1911 to 2015. Depth range (IODE standard depths):-3000.0, -2500.0, -2000.0, -1750.0, -1500.0, -1400.0, -1300.0, -1200.0, -1100.0, -1000.0, -900.0, -800.0, -700.0, -600.0, -500.0, -400.0, -300.0, -250.0, -200.0, -150.0, -125.0, -100.0, -75.0, -50.0, -30.0, -20.0, -10.0, -5.0, -0.0. Data Sources: observational data from SeaDataNet/EMODNet Chemistry Data Network. Description of DIVA analysis: Geostatistical data analysis by DIVA (Data-Interpolating Variational Analysis) tool. Profiles were interpolated at standard depths using weighted parabolic interpolation algorithm (Reiniger and Ross, 1968). GEBCO 1min topography is used for the contouring preparation. Analyzed filed masked using relative error threshold 0.3 and 0.5. DIVA settings: A constant value for signal-to-noise ratio was used equal to 1. Correlation length was optimized and filtered vertically and a seasonally-averaged profile was used. Logarithmic transformation applied to the data prior to the analysis. Background field: the data mean value is subtracted from the data. Detrending of data: no. Advection constraint applied: no.     We provide datasets that include parameters regarding phytoplankton community, primary production and chl a measurements. Chlorophyll a concentrations analysis started from 1972 till 2017 and included coastal and open waters stations. Phytoplankton community analysis consist of datasets started from 1952-2017 while primary production measurements were obtained from 1962.

    Monthly mesoozooplankton samplings started in 1950s, performed by vertical tows of Hensen net (73 cm mouth diameter, 330 μm mesh size) from 35–0 m. Samples were fixed in 2 % formaldehyde solution buffered with borax. No flowmeter was used. From 1950s-1995 mesozooplankton was sampled on approximately monthly basis and data are available from January 1972 to November 1995 (with gaps in 1975) and include the abundances expressed as no.ind.m-3 at group level of the zooplankton groups such as Copepoda, Cladocera, Appendicularia, Chaetognatha, Tunicata, Ostracoda, Polychaeta, Decapoda larvae, various meroplankton larvae, Pisces ova, Pisces larvae and Hydromedusae/Siphonophora. From 1995 the sampling program with Hensen net was interrupted and investigations continued with Nansen net, 125 μm mesh size.

From 1959-2017 mesozooplankton was sampled on approximately monthly basis and data are available from March 1959 to December 2017 (with gaps) and include the abundances expressed as no.ind.m-3 at group level of the zooplankton groups such as Copepoda, Cladocera, Appendicularia, Chaetognatha, Tunicata, Ostracoda, Polychaeta, Decapoda larvae, various meroplankton larvae, Pisces ova, Pisces larvae and Hydromedusae/Siphonophora. From 2004 - 2012 the sampling program was interrupted. The samples from 2012 - 2016 are currently being processed and not yet part of this series.

    The population analysis, i.e. population dynamics, fisheries biology and exploitation of painted comber, Serranus scriba (Linnaeus, 1758) (Teleostei: Serranidae), were done as a part of thesis. All representative samples were collected from commercial catches (the small costal trawl (12 mm stretched mesh)) in the Marina Saldun bay area (Middle eastern part of the Adriatic Sea) from November 2001 to March 2002.

    The ClimateFish database collates abundance data of 15 fish species proposed as candidate indicators of climate change in the Mediterranean Sea. Data were collected according to a simplified visual census methodology (Garrabou et al. 2019) along standard transects of five minutes performed at a constant speed of 10m/min, corresponding approximately to an area of 50x5m. Four different depth layers were surveyed: 0-3m, 5-10 m, 11-20 m, 21-30 m. So far, the ClimateFish database includes fish counts collected along 3142 transects carried out in seven Mediterranean countries between 2009 and 2021, for a total number of 101'771 observed individuals belonging to the 15 fish species.
